NY Welfare Leaches Put on Notice

A New York state senator has introduced legislation that would prohibit the purchase of “luxury” items using food stamps.

Republican Sen. Patty Ritchie of District 48 introduced the bill on Feb. 17, pitching it as an effort to cut down on obesity. If passed into law, it would exclude “luxury food items” from being purchased using the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), according to WKYC.

New York’s Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance Program (OTDA) would be called upon to draw up a list of high-end items to be taken off the SNAP menu, but some foods already suggested by Ritchie include lobster, steak and ornate cakes.

“Many of these items aren’t just unhealthy, they’re also expensive,” Ritchie said in a statement. “This legislation would not only help low-income families and individuals stretch their food budgets further and promote health and nutrition, it would also protect taxpayers from abuse of a program that’s intended to help those who have fallen on hard times.”

Grassroot groups who work with impoverished Americans have blasted Ritchie’s proposal as ineffective and discriminatory.

“This is just a roundabout way of continuing to stigmatize and paint this negative picture of people who receive food stamp benefits,” Vocal-NY co-executive director Alyssa Aguilera whined.

No one said to cut them off completely. No one said to NOT give them assistance. All that was said was that some sanity and fairness be brought back into the broken system.

While everyone should start out with the same opportunities in life no one should expect to end with the same results in life. The end depends on the individual and the effort they put into those opportunities. Even the poorest ghetto child has the VERY SAME education opportunities as the richest child. The curriculum remains the same regardless of “money”.

Those on welfare should be limited to a block of cheddar cheese, Ramen Noodles, a bucket of lard, a chicken, and 3 pounds of hamburger a week. The idea is that they don’t starve…NOT that they eat like those who WORK for their food. If they want something “that tastes good” then it’s up to them figure out a way to earn it and not expect the rest of us to provide it to them.

Now don’t try to give me some emotion laden argument to defend your point…give me a logically supported defense of your side and I will listen.

Emotional tugs on our heart strings is nothing more than a signal that YOU don’t have a real argument and are nothing more than a supporter of TAXPAYER funded welfare handout leeches.

We need to:

1. Force them off taxpayer funded welfare handouts and into JOBS where they will be too tired to screw.

2. Make BOTH the Mother AND FATHER responsible for the child’s monetary needs even to the point of FORCED LABOR for either if necessary to earn the money required for the upkeep of the child. It’s called prison WORK CAMPS and yes, their wages would go to the upkeep of the child and themselves while in the work camp.

3. FORCED MONITORED chemical castration of ANY “Father” who is not up to date on their child support payments (Chemical castration is reversible). You don’t have the right to add to MY burdens when your spawn are eating and living on MY dime.

4. FORCED MONITORED birth control for ANY woman who is on government assistance. You don’t have the right to add to MY burdens when you’re eating and living on MY dime.

Abortion is not necessary when we have the means to prevent conception in the first place.

If they are not on government taxpayer funded welfare handouts then they can do whatever they want. Just stay out of MY POCKETS in the process.

“I want people to be able to get what they need to live: enough food, a place to live, and an education for their children. Government does not provide these as well as private charities and businesses”. We have rights, as individuals, to give as much of our own money as we please to charity; but as members of Congress we have no right so to appropriate a dollar of public money.” ~Colonel David Crockett, member of Congress 1827-32, 1832-35

“I cannot undertake to lay my finger on that article of the Constitution which granted a right to Congress of expending, on objects of benevolence, the money of their constituents.” ~James Madison

“What shall we do with the Negro? I have had but one answer from the beginning. Do nothing with us! Your doing with us has already played the mischief with us. Do nothing with us! If the apples will not remain on the tree of their own strength, if they are wormeaten at the core, if they are early ripe and disposed to fall, let them fall! I am not for tying or fastening them on the tree in any way, except by nature’s plan, and if they will not stay there, let them fall. And if the Negro cannot stand on his own legs, let him fall also. All I ask is, give him a chance to stand on his own legs! Let him alone!” ~~ Frederick Douglas
