The Third-Party Argument

USA – The Republican party has recently shown its true colors and severely damaged its reputation, possibly to the point that it has created its own demise. First off let’s review some irrefutable facts that have a tremendous impact on this issue.

President Donald J. Trump proved;

  1. That not just he, but his ideology and MAGA/KAG (Make America Great Again/Keep America Great) platform of “America and Americans first” is a solid winner with approximately 75+ million voters.
  2. That while it is easily possible to beat Republican elite politicians electorally it is not possible to trust them administratively as a consistent competent support structure.
  3. Legislation and other political issue solutions don’t have to be ploddingly slow and can be addressed efficiently and appropriately in a timely manner. [See video]
  4. That “political correctness” was, and is, an unnecessarily restrictive and toxically unethical component of our language and communication abilities that can easily and reliably be ignored.

“This concept is generally a bad idea since we’re set up as a two-party system and the last time a third party replaced one of the main parties was when the Republicans managed to displace the Whigs over the issue of slavery back in the 1850s.” ~John Hawkins

Clearly, this opening sentence is a dismissive tactic attempting to massage and falsely set the battlefield of the argument. It fails miserably.

Firstly, no, our nation is not set up on a two-party system. This is a lie. Our forefathers despised political parties. John Adams warned us against political parties as well. He said:

There is nothing which I dread so much as a division of the republic into two great parties, each arranged under its leader, and concerting measures in opposition to each other. This, in my humble apprehension, is to be dreaded as the greatest political evil under our Constitution.

George Washington too warned us against party politics. He referred to political parties as factions, and he explained in his farewell address that:

The alternate domination of one faction over another, sharpened by the spirit of revenge, natural to party dissension, which in different ages and countries has perpetrated the most horrid enormities, is itself a frightful despotism. But this leads at length to a more formal and permanent despotism. The disorders and miseries which result gradually incline the minds of men to seek security and repose in the absolute power of an individual; and sooner or later the chief of some prevailing faction, more able or more fortunate than his competitors, turns this disposition to the purposes of his own elevation, on the ruins of public liberty.

And now we can all see George Washington’s predictions coming true in the Democrat party with regard to socialism, communism, the interference with a person’s private business, freedoms of speech, religion, assembly, 2nd Amendment rights, and the list goes on.

But it is human nature to form societal groups and that is one aspect of human nature that can’t be overcome as it appears to be fundamental and genetically imbued in humanity.

Secondly, our nation is not a “two-party system” simply because there are numerous parties in our political structure. As of November 2020, there were 225 state-level ballot-qualified political party affiliates in the United States. Some parties are recognized in multiple states. For example, both the Democratic Party and the Republican Party are recognized in all 50 states and Washington, D.C. These two parties account for 102 of the 225 total state-level parties. Three minor parties were recognized in more than 10 states as of November 2020:

  1. Libertarian Party: 35 states
  2. Green Party: 22 states
  3. Constitution Party: 15 states

Thirdly, the fact that the last time a third party replaced one of the main parties was when the Republicans managed to displace the Whigs over the issue of slavery back in the 1850s has nothing to do with how far in the past it occurred. It does have everything to do with the issues that were the genesis of the action. Then the issues that brought about the demise of the Whig party were states’ rights and slavery. Now the equally important issues of America first and American independence, our constitutional rights, and our economy are more than enough to bring about the demise of the Republican party in favor of a “Patriot” party.

1) If you can’t take over the GOP, what makes you think you can successfully build a new party? ~John Hawkins

ASSERTION: If you don’t have the money, support, or organizational skills to take over the Republican Party, why would you think you could start a successful new party?

REALITY: The fact that “As of November 2020, there were 225 state-level ballot-qualified political party affiliates in the United States. It would be far easier to create a new political party than to fight an existing one on its own turf. Instead of attempting to win under an existing party’s own rules and against its elitist proponents who go as far as to ignore their own rules, and more importantly their own alleged platform, it would be far more sensible to start fresh and learn from that party’s mistakes in how to keep out elitism, graft, and corruption.

ASSERTION: If anything, starting a new party would be HARDER than taking over the Republican Party because your fundraising is going to be limited by law until your first convention,

REALITY: No, it would not be harder. In fact, it’s quite simple as we can all see here; MAGA Patriot Party National Committee.  As one can see we now have the DNC (Democratic National Committee), the RNC (Republican National Committee), and now the MAGA PPNC (Patriot Party National Committee), among many other political party committees, which has the same legal fund-raising abilities under the law as does the DNC and the RNC. In essence, this assertion appears to be a complete lie designed to confound and demoralize in a disingenuous effort to protect the stricken and fractured Republican party.

ASSERTION: there are difficult hurdles to overcome with ballot access,

REALITY: Difficult hurdles? Ballot access in the United States refers to the rules and procedures regulating the conditions under which a candidate, political party, or ballot measure is entitled to appear on voters’ ballots. Many states simply require nothing more than for prospective candidates to collect a specified number of qualified voters’ signatures on petitions of support and mandate the payment of filing fees before granting access. Each state also regulates how political parties qualify for automatic ballot access, and how those minor parties that do not can. As the nation’s election process is decentralized by Article I, Section 4, of the United States Constitution, ballot access laws are established and enforced by the states. As a result, ballot access processes may vary from one state to another. State access requirements for candidates generally pertain to the personal qualities of a candidate, such as minimum age, residency, citizenship, and being a qualified voter.

ASSERTION: and you’d have to build all of your party infrastructure from scratch.

REALITY: Is the not the point of the whole process, to build from scratch rather than fighting the inherent corruption and cronyism of the Republican party as it now exists? By building from scratch the enacting party members have equally power right from the start to establish the party’s policies, rules, regulations, and procedures without having to fight unreasonable demands from elitists who claim more decision making power than others or make fervent claims of “tradition” and complaints of “We’ve always done it this way!” In a new party, the creators start out on even footing and bypass “traditionalism” as a new party has no traditions yet. Examples of this can be seen on the Patriots Party website.

ASSERTION: If you can’t even manage to beat Mitch McConnell or Mitt Romney in a primary, why would you think you have what it takes to create a new party that could successfully replace the whole GOP?

REALITY: Because President Donald J. Trump has proven that 75+ million people are quite willing to get behind and support, not just President Donald J. Trump,  but his America & Americans First ideology. It’s the ideology that prevails and draws the voters. And it is a fallacy to believe that there would remain enough “elite” Republicans and RINOs in the Republican party that could ever defray a Patriot party vote any more than could the Green, Libertarian or Socialist party. Again, it makes no sense to try to beat the elitist McConnells, McCains, or the Romneys on their own battlefields in primaries when one can simply bypass the time, trouble, and expense and beat them in the general elections. They are, to a point, powerful in their own party but they have no power outside of it.

2) You win by adding people, not subtracting them. ~John Hawkins

ASSERTION: You win elections by holding on to your base and adding new supporters.

REALITY: True enough. But in this case, the “base” is not “Republican”, but rather “America & Americans First” and therein lies the difference. The projected abandonment of the America & Americans First base from the Republican party to a Patriot party is approximately 90 percent. And just as President Donald J. Trump singularly generated interest and brought voters to the Republican party in 2016, President Donald J. Trump and candidates of a Patriot party who adopt President Donald J. Trump’s ideology would also exponentially generate and attract voters to a patriot party. And do so in less than a year. A corollary example would be the defection of Fox New viewers to Newsmax TV. A rather spot-on quote from Abraham Lincoln serves us well in this issue; Stand with anybody that stands right, stand with him while he is right and part with him when he goes wrong.

ASSERTION: You don’t win elections by taking a bunch of people from the populist/grassroots wing of the Republican Party and moving them over to a Patriot Party so that basically, you have the same number of voters split between two parties.

REALITY: And that’s not what would happen. As previously explained, a Patriot party would take an estimated 90% of voters from the whole of the Republican party. And additionally, adding to that number those Blue Dog Kennedy Democrats who feel that the Democrat party has abandoned them. And finally, receiving the voting support of approximately 80% of those registered Independent simply to protect their livelihoods, thus becoming the most powerful base of voters in the nation. This is exactly what happened in the 2020 elections as evidenced by the proof-positive discoveries of constitutional and election fraud that will certainly be forced to be judicially addressed in fair and impartial courts of law and judicially remedied.

ASSERTION: That is a recipe for failure for both parties.

REALITY: This assertion is merely an opinion that has no justifiable factual support and its existence is, once again, to instill fear, confoundment, and disingenuously demoralize you.

3) What makes you think the party will stay pure? ~John Hawkins

ASSERTION: The Republican Party is a mixture of country club/establishment Republicans and populist/grassroots Republicans.

REALITY: Partly true. But this presupposes that there are only the two extremes and no middle ground. It’s not either/or. The majority of the Republican party is composed of average people who are not either. They are middle-class Americans who go to work, pay their bills, raise their families, go to church and there’s nothing either “elite” or “grassroots” anything about them. But they do read, they do understand, and they do vote!

ASSERTION: The establishment Republicans always seem to hold too much power in the GOP and, every so often, the grassroots/populist Republicans get frustrated and want to start a new party.

REALITY: Again, true. And as always there are naysayers like John Hawkins who emerge to desperately attempt to stifle the issue with non-factual opinions and emotional incontinence designed to create fear, confound you, and disingenuously try to trick you into staying on the sinking ship known as the Republican party which clearly has become the reverse face of the uni-party coin of which the Democrats are the obverse face.

ASSERTION: However, this leads to an obvious question. What makes them think the new party would stay pure?

REALITY: People’s ability to learn from their mistakes and the lawless actions of others and incorporate into their platform, policies, rules, and regulations the measures necessary to refute and defeat such incursions and corruption. Much like the U.S. Constitution stymies the Democrats in the end eventually.

ASSERTION: Even if the Patriot Party succeeded in replacing the Republican Party, which is extraordinarily unlikely, guess what? They’re going to need money and the people offering it will want things in return for it.

REALITY: Extraordinarily unlikely? Yet another attempt at a complete lie with no factual support and based on emotion designed to confound and demoralize in a disingenuous effort to protect the stricken and fractured Republican party. As discussed earlier the Republican party itself was a “third-party” that derived its existence from, and by displacing, the Whig party. A third-party driven by President Donald J. Trump’s ideology with President Donald J. Trump’s support can certainly win a general election and quite easily because it would immediately draw voters, money, and support away from the Republican party, and even some from the Democrat party, just as President Donald J. Trump drew voters away from the elite Republicans like Jeb Bush, John Kasich, Carly Fiorina, Rick Santorum, and Lindsey Graham in the 2016 Presidential elections. Seems to me that is what many elite Republicans are desperately afraid of.

ASSERTION: They’re also going to have to appeal to a wider group of people than diehard Trump fans or grassroots Republicans to succeed.

REALITY: What wider group of people than die-hard Trump fans or grassroots Republicans? That is the widest group according to the real 2020 election results as the evidence of ballot fraud, illegal voting machine manipulation, illegally failing to heed state election laws, and other treasonous acts have irrefutably proven.

ASSERTION: Those people aren’t coming on board unless they get things as well. This is why both parties do things they really don’t want to do all the time.

REALITY: This assertion is the basest lie I have ever seen written. This assertion is the problem with today’s Republican party, and more so the Democrat party. It is this attitude of voluntary acceptance of cronyism, elitism, corruption, graft, and political correctness as “normal” and some kind of “business as usual” that should be accepted by you, the voter, that makes imperative the creation of another party that openly and fervently rejects such attitudes. Man (or woman) does not have to accept or participate in cronyism, elitism, corruption, graft, and political correctness to survive, and thrive, in this nation. And neither does our political parties. Even President Donald J. Trump proved to all of us that “deals” can be made without sacrificing morality and the trust of “We the People.”

ASSERTION: You can have a political party that is exactly like you want it to be or you can have a political party that wins, but you can’t have both.

REALITY: Again another factually unsupported lie. Yes, you can have both! This is an argumentative fallacy called the False Dilemma/False Dichotomy Fallacy. Its use is considered by professional journalists to be indicative of an unethical author who considers their audience to be complete morons who can be easily manipulated.

This argumentative fallacy has a few other names: “black-and-white fallacy,” “either-or fallacy,” “false dichotomy,” and “bifurcation fallacy.” This line of reasoning fails by limiting the options to two when there are in fact more options to choose from. Sometimes the choices are between one thing, the other thing, or both things together (they don’t exclude each other). Sometimes there is a whole range of options, three, four, five, or a hundred and forty-five. However it may happen, the false dichotomy fallacy errs by oversimplifying the range of options.

For the last four years, even under the most tremendous assault imaginable by Democrats, elitist Republicans, and RINOs, President Donald J. Trump gave voters the vision of a political party that is exactly like 75+ million voters would want it to be, ran under it as a candidate espousing the values 75+ million voters treasure, AND WON! This was despite the attacks by the elitist Republicans, and RINOs in the Republican party. Now that the Republicans have back-stabbed President Donald J. Trump in every sense but the literal sense, 75+ million voters can all now see that it’s imperative that they create a political party like the Patriot party that would scrupulously support candidates that embrace core principles such as;

  • Our country and her people must come first in all things.
  • Continuously demand, and by example show loyalty to party ideology, and never to party individuals.
  • Oppose and strive to destroy by all available means socialism, communism or marxism.
  • Oppose any terrorism, foreign or domestic, including any cult or religion that advocates death to any person or harm to any person’s property.
  • Support our constitution with special emphasis on the protection of the 1st and 2nd amendments.
  • Actively and stridently teach that our nation is a Constitutional Republic and actively denounce pure democracy as the self-destructive ideology it is.
  • Are fiscally conservative in nature and respect “We the Peoples’” money.
  • Support a robust populist patriotic education system that drives American innovation.
  • Demand lower cost higher quality healthcare based on conservative capitalist principles for all Americans.
  • Uphold the rule of law.
  • Demand that our veterans are taken care of properly.
  • Believe that real solutions come from all Americans, not just the elite, and are based on logic and facts rather than emotionalism.
  • Demand, and enforce by non-waivable party rules, regulations, and policies that all candidates be honest and keep their word to the people.
  • When debating will stick to the issues, not resort to ad hominem against the individual.

Abraham Lincoln’s quote; Stand with anybody that stands right, stand with him while he is right and part with him when he goes wrong“, should be the opening statement on the party’s mission statement and part of the party’s official letterhead.

4) It all revolves around Trump. ~John Hawkins

ASSERTION: Nobody would have any interest in a Patriot Party if Donald Trump wasn’t involved.

REALITY: While some would be more comfortable with President Donald J. Trump involved it would be a lie to state that no one would be interested in a Patriot party that didn’t have his personal involvement. The voters did not gravitate to President Donald J. Trump because of him personally, rather they were attracted to his ideology of MAGA/KAG and America & Americans First.

ASSERTION: This is a problem because Donald Trump is 74 years old and it’s entirely possible he’ll have legal troubles and business concerns eating up a lot of his time over the next few years.

REALITY: And? No, the legal concerns and business concerns will be eating up his attorneys’ and staff’s time. That makes this assertion irrelevant. Let’s not forget that Biden was 78 years old when he fraudulently occupied the office of the president. And the reality is that President Donald J. Trump won’t endure nearly the amount of legal issues that are coming presidain’t Biden’s way.

ASSERTION: Do you think he’s really going to want to spend 60 hours a week for the rest of his life working on a new political party?

REALITY: Another irrelevant assertion. President Donald J. Trump is a “candidate” and does not have to be the constructive force behind the creation of a new party, only the driving force should he decide he wanted to create one. And if President Donald J. Trump did choose to create a new Patriot party, he’d simply delegate the job to his staff with instructions on what he wanted to happen. Much in the same way that he creates buildings.

ASSERTION: Do you see the party being successful in say 2028 after Trump is too old to run and there’s a nominee other than Trump? The second Trump leaves the scene, the whole thing is likely to fall apart.

REALITY: Aside from the fact that there’s waiting in the wings Donald Trump Jr., Eric Trump, Ivanka Trump, and yes, even Barron Trump, the survival of a Patriot party revolves around something far more powerful, President Donald J. Trump’s “America & Americans First” ideology. President Donald J. Trump proved that his ideology of an American First, Anti-socialist/communist, oil/gas/energy independent, reduced regulation/red tape platform works to improve the American economy for Americans.

5) It means giving the Democrats complete control for years. ~John Hawkins

ASSERTION: A Patriot Party would almost entirely pull its membership from the Republican Party, which would mean that it would split the GOP vote and guarantee that more Democrats would be elected.

REALITY: Again with yet another attempt at a complete lie with no factual support and based on emotion designed to confound and demoralize in a disingenuous effort to protect the stricken and fractured Republican party. As previously explained, a Patriot party would take an estimated 90% of voters from the Republican party. And additionally, adding to that number those Blue Dog Kennedy Democrats who feel that the Democrat party has abandoned them. And finally, receiving the voting support of approximately 80% of those registered Independent simply to protect their livelihoods, thus becoming the most powerful base of voters in the nation.

ASSERTION: As long as the Patriot Party was around, the Democrats would be sure to hold the House, the Senate, and the White House and you could expect their margins to go up considerably.

REALITY: Only if election fraud/cheating is allowed to continue which in this nation of laws will not happen. The rule of law will not allow such cheating to stand. If a Patriot party was created the likelihood is that the Democrat party would be relegated to the status of the Green, Libertarian or Socialist party which ranges in the power of political impact in national general elections from .002% to 1.18%. So in reality Democrat margins will not even be a factor.

ASSERTION: If your goal is to promote socialism, open borders, and censorship, the best way to do it would be to create something like the Patriot Party.

REALITY: Again, this assertion is nothing more than a factually unsupported lie that is crafted to manipulate your emotions and bring about confoundment and demoralization in a disingenuous effort to protect the stricken and fractured Republican party. Clearly an attempt to link a third party like a Patriot party to “socialism, open borders, and censorship” when in reality the continued association with the Republican party and its uni-party sister, the Democrat party, is the true path to destruction. It’s time to take a lesson from the past (and historical Republicans) and replace the Republican party with a Patriot party just as they, the Republican party, replaced the Whig party.
